Influenza 1918

This Pandemic infected a third of the world's population and killed at least 50 million people's all over the world, some researchers said that the number of deaths by Pandemic was approx 100 million because due to other diseases like pneumonia and other respiratory diseases was taken as main causes of death.
The time period of this Pandemic was January 1918 - December 1920.
The virus named H1N1 was causes of this Pandemic.
In the beginning, that virus more deadly for sick and elderly peoples, while healthier and young people recovered. But later this virus was more dangerous for young people due to cytokine storm, which ravages the stronger immune system of young people.
In contrast, a 2007 analysis of medical journals from the period of the Pandemic found that the viral infection was no more aggressive than previous influenza strains.
The 1918 Influenza was the first of two Pandemics caused by H1N1 virus, the second was the Swine flu 2009.
In India, It was named " Bombay fever " because it came to India through the soldiers who came back from world war 1. This caused approximately 18 million deaths in India.
There was world war happening, so Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, France censored minimised early reports of illness and mortality to maintain the morale of soldiers. Spain was neutral venue and newspapers were free to report of Pandemic due to that this Pandemic is also known as "Spanish flu".
